Entro da sturbucks e mi siedo al contatore (?! cassa?) vicino ad un gruppo di turisti italiani. Iniziamo a chiacchierare e mi chiedono consiglio sulle cose da fare e da vedere a New York.
Dico loro di andare all'East Village. Non ne hanno mai sentito parlare.
Gli consiglio di comprare una copia di Time Out. Mai sentito parlare. Suggerisco altre cose; non hanno mai sentito parlare di nessuna delle cose che cito.
Prendo nella mia borsa un libro bookcrossing e chiedo se gli piacerebbe. Loro sfogliano le pagine, notano che dal romanzo è stato tratto un film e felicemente lo accettano. Io indico l'etichetta con la figura del libro che corre e inizio a spiegare, "Ora, questo è qualcosa di cui probabilmente non avrete mai sentito parlare..."
"Oh, certo" dicono. "Bookcrossing. Sì, lo sappiamo. Leggi il libro, lo dai a un'altra persona, giusto? Lo conoscono tutti".
Io ero stordita - e tutto quello cui potevo pensare era wow, ma quanto è figa questa cosa?
ecco più o meno... cmq concordo: facciamo un po' la figura dei tontoloni, però la faccenda è troppo carina
