cobaltcat a Roma 5 Dicembre

Messaggio da cobaltcat »

Ciao everyone!

Please see my post in the international section. My boyfriend and I are visiting for a week. Would like to know if you are planning a meetup during that week (5 Dicembre -10 Dicembre) and if so, I would like to try and come to it. Or maybe even a mini meetup? I'd love to meet some Roman bookcrossers!

I'll be adding a few books to my bookshelf; I plan on taking approximately 6 to 7 books with me to leave at a BCZ. That is, if I can talk my boyfriend into lugging the books. (You don't think I plan on carrying them all the way, did you? ). If you see something that I have and you simply have an impossible time finding it in Italy, let me know and I'll see if I can manage an extra book or two.!

I'm looking forward to visiting your beautiful city!

Ciao,

cobaltcat

Whoa! We *have* to meet. Just a question: can you read Italian, or should I just save my english language books for ya? ;-)

Welcome, do let us know your whereabouts. I believe the official Meetup would be on Dec. 10th, but if you're leaving that evening we can meet somewhere in the previous weekend!

(thanks to frarosano for pointing this message out to me: I seldom surf the forum)

Actually, we are flying out on the morning of the 11th, so coming to the offical meetup on the 10th is certainly a possibility. But any other day is OK too!

As far as reading Italian, I'm just beginning to learn the language. I can understand just enough (for example when reading the forums) to determine what the basic subject is. Beckys has very kindly sent me two books in "easier" Italian which has helped me immensely, but I admit I am very much a beginner in both reading and speaking. But I'd be more than happy to take an Italian book off your hands! :)

Just one? ;-)

Do come with lots of books... it'd be great having a list of what you have available without having to turn page after page after page, though... (I pay internet by the minute, sorry!) As of me, check out my profile: anything that's in my possession is up there for grabs!

Warning! :yell!: Our official december Meetup is on the 9th, (tuesday, 8:00 PM) not on the 10th.
Location: Caffè dell'Emporio, Piazza dell'Emporio 1.
I really hope you'll be there. :D
See you soon!

I stand corrected. The 9th it is.

This evening I'll be updating my bookshelf, and adding more books. A few that I know will be traveling with me:

Mark Twain-A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court
Dan Brown-Deception Point
Betty Smith-A Tree Grows In Brooklyn
Charles Frazier-Cold Mountain
David Mas Masumoto-Epitaph for a Peach (written by one of our local authors---very good book)

I'm not bringing any hardcover books (too heavy). Most of the remaining SF books are hardcover, sorry.

Please see my one page bookshelf.

Ehm!... The Science Fiction is well represented and "rather interesting"... I deem (IMHO)...
